The Crane Valley Project 2016-17: Volunteer Details

London Wildlife Trust is pleased to announce another exciting programme of river improvement works this winter. We will be working at seven sites along the River Crane and Yeading Brook, in the London Boroughs of Hillingdon, Ealing, Hounslow and Richmond.

LWT Volunteers

A range of activities will be available including: creating flow deflectors; building habitat structures; marginal planting; toeboard removal; fish stocking; and river clean ups. Full training will be provided by our Senior Conservation Officer for the Crane Valley, Tom White and the Crane Valley Project team. The project is a great chance for you to make meaningful improvements to the river catchment whilst making some new friends along the way.
We will be working at the following sites between September 2016 and March 2017:

Brookside Open Space Creating flow deflectors, building habitat structures, river clean up September-October 2016
Yeading Brook Meadows (North) Creating flow deflectors, building habitat structures, river clean up November – December 2016
Crane Meadows Fish stocking December 2016
Donkey Woods Fish stocking December 2016
Gutteridge Wood Building habitat structures January - March 2017
Crane Park Island Toeboard removal, marginal planting January - February 2017
Riverside Walk Marginal shelf construction January - March 2017
